Christmas 2011

Christmas was lovely although things were a little different around our house this year. It is the first year none of the children believed in Santa (yay - we finally get the credit lol). Instead of leaving stockings out this year for Santa to fill we put all the presents that would of gone into the stockings under the tree and we let the children open one present on Christmas eve (pjs!). Although it felt strange and foreign for a while, it was actually really nice and I think we all like our new traditions. We made Christmas lunch at my sisters' house and one of my brothers is here for a visit and it was a lovely day. We don't exchange presents with adults, except my brother as for us Christmas is all about the children. They loved their gifts, which made me very happy.

The best part of all was the weather. It was so mild. 12 degrees Celsius on Christmas day.

I would also like to say a special thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. It is nice to know there are people out there dishing out virtual hugs and support when you need it.

Until next time ...

  1. What a lovely brood! Next year I really must do the new PJs for Christmas Eve thing! Might even push the boat out for slippers too! :) x

  2. I am so pleased that you had a good Christmas and that the weather was mild.It is summer here, but we have only had a few really hot days, which were then followed by thunderstorms. On Christmas Day there was a huge storm in Melbourne with heavy rain and enormous hailstones, but as we live in Geelong which is about 75km out of Melbourne,it didn't affect us at all.
